Annie teaches classes on Tuesday and Friday zoom and in person.
Annie Taylor started her yoga practice in 1997 at the YMCA in West Seattle. She describes it as a humbling and life-changing experience. Always having the ability to touch her toes, she could not balance in a tree pose. She quickly realized everyone’s yoga practice is unique and that it’s personally different every day. Annie started teaching yoga at Crescent Moon Yoga in La Conner during the Fall of 2012, became part owner in 2013 and took over full ownership in the Spring of 2015.
“Our bodies are amazing with what we ask of them on a daily basis. Yoga is a wonderful way of giving back to the body, spirit, and mind." She found this statement to be her motto as a cancer patient, overcoming Stage III breast cancer and Stage I CLL in 2014/2015.
Annie’s training was with Anusara Yoga which focuses on alignment principles and muscle energy. She became a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance in Oct 2012, and then completed 500 hours in August 2017 (RYT 500) and is continuing to study every day. Being aware of the importance of a proper diet to a body and mind, she also works part-time at a farm to table restaurant, helping to bring good food to people in the valley. Additional training includes Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid, Cancer Exercise Specialists Program, SilverSneakers Yoga and she is an ordained minister.
